Week #8 – Week of July 20th

Kay’s Farm Poem:

Morning sun warms me slowly and

the dewy grass swishes softly at my feet.

Birds sing brightly and some slugs are on their morning stroll.

The flowers sway gently in the breeze and make me sneeze.

Oh harvest time!

Carrot time ?

As I pluck carrots I am greeted by music with earthworms wriggling around in the soil and lots of carrots with fantastic legs dancing to bachata.

Crouched in the soil, dirt under my fingernails and dirt smudged on my face makes me feel human.

Cucumbers!

All the cucumbers are playing hide and seek with me and I try my best to find them.

Beautiful heirloom tomatoes !

Face fully in tomato plants as I search for the ones that are blushing brightly at me, ready to ripen.

My fingers turn slightly green.

Maybe I do have a green thumb?

Or maybe it’s the tomatoes rubbing off on me?”
